This record and Samsara are pretty essential hardcore records. From North Carolina, Catharsis played vicious idealistic hardcore for almost a decade. Singer Brian D was (and I'm assuming still is) heavily involved with Crimthinc and Catharsis released several records through the CrimeThinc collective.
